Brigitte Read

Brigitte Read is an experienced professional in media development and journalism, currently serving as a Program Officer at the Media Development Investment Fund since October 2021. Prior to this role, Brigitte worked as a Programme Manager for KAS Media Africa at Konrad Adenauer Stiftung from April 2015 to May 2021. Brigitte's career began as a Project Coordinator for the Wits China-Africa Reporting Project at the University of the Witwatersrand, where responsibilities included strategic development, donor funding acquisition, and management of reporting grants. Brigitte holds a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Journalism from the University of the Witwatersrand, complemented by a Postgraduate Degree in International Relations and a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies from Rhodes University.
