Alex Kaplan

Alex Kaplan is a Senior Researcher at Media Matters for America since March 2015, focusing on disinformation and extremism on tech platforms and contributing to notable reporting efforts that included Reddit's quarantine of "The_Donald" subreddit and investigations into the QAnon conspiracy theory. Kaplan has authored numerous reports cited by major outlets such as The Associated Press and HuffPost. Previous roles include Press Secretary for Joe Dorman's gubernatorial campaign in Oklahoma, various internships in political consulting and media production at CNN, MSNBC, and C-SPAN, as well as legislative experience in the United States Senate. Alex holds a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from American University and a nano-degree in Programming for Data Science from Udacity. Additionally, Kaplan participated in Washington Improv Theater from 2018 to 2021.
