Kat McLean has extensive work experience in the media and advertising industry. From 2006 to 2008, they worked as a Media Buyer at Sheridan West, Inc., where they coordinated the planning and placement of broadcast and print media budgets for a major grocery retailer. Kat was responsible for negotiating and maintaining cable and broadcast activity in ten major southeast markets, as well as handling contract negotiations and placements in over 100 news publications. Kat also oversaw weekly broadcast traffic and conducted quarterly competitive share of voice analysis.
In 2008, Kat McLean joined Mullen, where they held various roles. From 2008 to 2009, they served as an Assistant Negotiations Specialist, and then they worked as a Negotiations Specialist from 2009 to 2011. In these positions, they managed all aspects of the broadcast buys for Century Link and BASF Agriculture across multiple spot TV and radio markets. Kat provided planning cost assistance to ensure efficiencies below SQAD and served as a resource in planning, identifying new broadcast opportunities, understanding the target demographic, and providing target market and demographic research. From 2011 to 2013, they held the position of Senior Negotiations Specialist and, later, Negotiations Supervisor, further expanding their responsibilities and expertise in broadcast buying.
Since 2013, Kat McLean has been working at Mediahub Worldwide. Kat started as an Associate Director of Audio & Video Investment from 2013 to 2015. In this role, they led strategic cross-platform audio and video activation strategies, leveraging offline, online, and proprietary data to create accountable and engaging campaigns across emerging media platforms in the Programmatic and Advanced TV space. From 2015 to 2020, they were promoted to VP, Associate Director of Audio & Video Investment, where they continued to excel in their strategic planning and campaign execution. In March 2020, they became a VP, Media Director, overseeing media strategy and execution for clients. In November 2021, they were promoted to VP, Group Media Director, further showcasing their leadership and expertise in the industry.
Kat McLean earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they studied Advertising and Political Science from 2000 to 2006.
