Esteban Pesnel

Esteban Pesnel has work experience in the field of video coding and research. Esteban began their career as an intern at the University of Rennes 1 in 2019. Esteban then worked as a video research intern at Harmonic in 2021, where they focused on studying the effects of video preprocessing on perceived quality and encoding. In 2022, they joined Haivision as a video research intern and also worked as an associate researcher at Ouest INSA Junior Entreprise. Then, in 2023, Esteban served as a video codec research intern at MediaKind, where he designs fast algorithms and prediction models for video coding. Currently, he is working as a PhD software engineer at MediaKind, in partnership with INRIA.

Esteban Pesnel completed their education in a chronological order. Esteban started by obtaining a high school degree in Science from Anita Conti High School from 2015 to 2018. After that, from 2018 to 2020, they attended ESIR - Ecole Supérieure d'ingénieurs de Rennes and pursued a CUPGE degree in IT. Following this, Esteban enrolled in INSA Rennes from 2020 to 2023, where they obtained an M.Ing degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering. From 2022 to 2023, they attended École de technologie supérieure in Montréal, QC, Canada, and earned a Master of Engineering (M.Eng) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. Additionally, Esteban obtained the TOEIC certification from ETS in May 2022, with a score of 935 out of 990. Currently, Esteban is preparing a PhD graduation at University of Rennes.
