Matt Collins

Matt Collins is the current Chief Operations Officer at MEDICAL CENTER HOSPITAL. Prior to this, they spent 9 years and 2 months as the Chief Operating Officer, Vice President of Operations at Medical Center Health System. In this role, they were accountable for leading hospital and ambulatory operations, providing guidance and direction for facilities infrastructure planning, employment and staffing, and integrating and aligning the strategic plan of the organization with the operations of the hospital. Matt also drove fiscal sustainability, safe operations, quality care and a high level of patient and community satisfaction with the health system. Additionally, they facilitated excellent organizational effectiveness through data analytics, performance improvement and Lean processes. Before their time at Medical Center Health System, Collins was the Executive Director of Ancillary and Support Services at Mission Hospital for 16 years and 5 months. In this role, they provided executive leadership, strategic guidance and management direction for all aspects of the hospital's Support Services and Clinical Operations. Operational areas included: Radiology, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Rehab, Cardiac Services, Plant Operations, Telecommunications, Housekeeping, Food and Nutrition Services, Police, Safety and Security, and Clinical Engineering.

Collins began their career as a Senior Consultant at HMS where they worked to support acute care hospital executive teams to assess and improve support services departments. Engagements included productivity and financial analysis, operational assessments, project management, development of key performance indicators as well as competency building/mentoring of site leadership personnel.

Matt Collins has a MBA from Chapman University, a Bachelor of Arts from University of Phoenix, and a Professional Certificate in Accounting and Finance from University of California, San Diego.
