Ekem Efuet

Ekem Efuet is an experienced medical laboratory technologist currently employed at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas since September 2021. Previously, Ekem held similar positions at Shannon Medical Center and Christus Santa Rosa Hospital, showcasing a strong background in clinical laboratory science. Ekem's academic credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Microbiology/Cell Biology from Bowling Green State University and a post baccalaureate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from UT Health San Antonio. Additionally, Ekem has a robust research background, having worked as a research scientist specializing in assay development at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center, and served as an instructor focusing on drug discovery related to cancer treatment for nearly a decade.
