Christine von Kolnitz

Sustainability/energy Manager at Medical University of South Carolina

Christine von Kolnitz has served as the Sustainability/Energy Manager at the Medical University of South Carolina since 1995, focusing on reducing greenhouse gases and enhancing sustainability awareness within the community. In addition, Christine has held the position of Chair for the Robert Lunz Group, Sierra Club since July 2018, and serves as a Technical Expert in Sustainability for the City of Charleston’s Resiliency & Sustainability Advisory Committee. Christine is also a part-time Graphic Designer/Editor for the book "Slavery to Civil Rights: A Walking Tour of African-American Charleston" since November 2016, and co-authored "Recycling and Beyond: A College Campus Primer," providing guidance on recycling implementation on college campuses. Previously, Christine chaired the Non-Profit and Public Entity Committee of the SC Energy Efficiency Roadmap from November 2019 to November 2020 and worked as a Recycling Coordinator at the College of Charleston from July 1992 to February 1995. Christine holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from the College of Charleston, obtained between 1988 and 1992.
