Heather Farley

Chief Wellbeing Officer at Medical University of South Carolina

Heather Farley, MD, MHCDS, currently serves as the Chief Wellbeing Officer and Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina, a position held since April 2024. Previously, Heather was Chief at Chief from October 2021 to April 2024, focusing on advancing women in leadership. Heather has held multiple roles at Thomas Jefferson University, contributing as a professor and co-authoring numerous peer-reviewed articles while serving as a principal investigator in various grant-funded studies. From June 2016 to April 2024, Heather was the Chief Wellness Officer at ChristianaCare, where oversight of caregiver wellbeing initiatives was central. Additional experience includes serving as Medical Director of the Middletown Emergency Department and Director of Provider Wellbeing at DFES, with a clinical background as an Emergency Physician in a Level I trauma center. Educational qualifications include a Master of Health Care Delivery Science from Dartmouth College and a Doctorate in Medicine from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
