Phil Auckland has a strong background in scientific research and has worked in various prestigious organizations. Phil started their career as a Research Scientist at The University of Edinburgh, where they investigated the epidemiology of sleeping sickness in Uganda. Phil then moved to the University of Warwick as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, focusing on understanding the contribution of kinetochore proteins to chromosome segregation. After that, they joined Rice University as a Rice Academy Junior Fellow, studying mitotic Wnt signaling in human embryonic stem cells. Most recently, they worked at King's College London as a King's Prize Fellow and Group Lead, where they achieved notable output. Currently, they are serving as a Lead Scientist - Advanced Microscopy at Medicines Discovery Catapult. Throughout their career, Phil Auckland has demonstrated expertise in their field and a commitment to scientific research.
Phil Auckland earned a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Warwick in 2012. Phil then pursued a Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research from the same university, which they completed in 2013. From 2013 to 2016, Phil obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Warwick, focusing on the molecular analysis of chromosome movement by microtubule depolymerisation coupled pulling. In 2015, they also attended the University of Chicago for the MBL Advanced Research Training Course, specializing in Analytical and Quantitative Light Microscopy.
