Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Specialist to join our team, specializing in selling medical devices and physical rehabilitation products within the Veterans Affairs (VA) organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical sales, excellent communication skills, and a passion for improving the healthcare of veterans. This role requires a deep understanding of the VA system and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

Compensation will be in alignment with market data, commensurate with experience, skills and qualifications, and a combination of salary and bonus potential. The Total Compensation package for full time employees includes many factors; base pay, bonus, stock options, health insurance, paid time off and various other benefits. 

Responsibilities

  • Sales and Business Development
  • Develop and implement innovative sales strategies to achieve or surpass sales targets, specifically focusing on the introduction of new products.
  • Create and execute targeted marketing plans to enhance awareness and adoption of InTandem within the VA system.
  • Represent InTandem at VA-related conferences, workshops, and events to promote new products and establish brand presence.

Client Relationship Management- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with VA healthcare professionals, administrators, and procurement officers.

  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to ensure client satisfaction and foster loyalty.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with clients to address their needs, gather feedback, and drive continuous improvement.

Product Knowledge and Demonstration- Maintain in-depth knowledge of MedRhythms’ products and their applications.

  • Provide education and training to VA healthcare professionals on the benefits and proper use of InTandem.
  • Stay updated on product developments and innovations to effectively communicate benefits to clients.

Sales Administration- Ensure all marketing and sales activities comply with VA regulations and standards.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of sales activities, client interactions, and transactions.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including marketing, customer service, and product development, to ensure seamless product delivery and customer experience.

We’re looking for you to bring

  • Proven experience working directly with VA hospitals and clinics, with a deep understanding of the Veterans Administration system and its procurement processes.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical device sales or related healthcare sales, with a focus on new product introduction.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing entrepreneurial sales strategies that meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Experience in delivering training and educational sessions to healthcare professionals, with the ability to adapt and innovate.
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit, with the ability to identify opportunities, solve problems creatively, and drive new product adoption.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Comfort and flexibility to travel 50-80% of the time to VA facilities, industry conferences, and trade shows.
  • Ability to be on-site regularly at VA facilities to understand and navigate both administrative and clinical barriers to product adoption.

Helpful experiences and skills (if you don’t have them, it’s not a dealbreaker)

  • Experience working in rehab or neurology.
  • Experience in a high-performing start-up environment.
  • Experience marketing novel treatments and medical devices.
  • Certification in sales or related professional training.
  • Experience with senior and executive level stakeholder engagement.
