Michelle Benes, CSM, PMP

Michelle Benes has over 20 years of work experience in various roles such as Program Manager, Scrum Master, Software Project Lead, Technical Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, and Application Specialist. Michelle has strong expertise in Agile and traditional project management approaches.

At their current role at Medrio, Michelle serves as a Program Manager and Scrum Master. Prior to this, they worked at Siemens Healthineers as a Software Project Lead, where they focused on keeping development teams agile while adhering to quality processes for medical devices. Michelle facilitated process improvements and collaborated with product managers to plan software releases.

Michelle also worked at TD as a Scrum Master, where they led Scrum ceremonies and performed product owner duties. Michelle strived to find a balance between engaging team members and minimizing unnecessary meetings and bureaucracy.

Before TD, they served as a Technical Project Manager and Scrum Master at RDM Corporation, where they managed multiple development teams and user acceptance testing. Michelle also prepared teams for transitioning to Jira from Microsoft Team Foundation Server.

During their 6+ years at Karos Health (now Cannon Medical Informatics), Michelle worked as a Scrum Master and Senior Project Manager. Michelle played a key role in defining processes using agile and traditional project management approaches. Michelle also managed diagnostic imaging system deployment and upgrade projects.

Earlier in their career, Michelle held roles at Geoware Inc. as an Application Specialist, Research In Motion as a Developer, Peer Group as a Developer, Inscriber Technology as a Quality Assurance Specialist, and Corel Corporation as a Quality Assurance Specialist.

Michelle Benes completed their undergraduate education at the University of Waterloo - St. Jerome's University from 1999 to 2005, earning a degree in Math with a field of study in Computer Science. In 2008, they obtained the Certified Scrum Master certification from the Scrum Alliance. Then, in 2011, they earned the Project Manager Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
