Sara Ellis

Sara Ellis currently serves as the Director of Training & Knowledge Management at the U.S. Department of Education, with previous roles including Program Specialist at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Marketing Communications Manager at MedStar Health. Ellis has a rich background in communication, having worked as a Writer/Editor at the Transportation Security Administration, where collaboration with security experts facilitated the development of communication templates and editing of agency memoranda. Additional experience includes serving as an Internal Communications Specialist at the U.S. Geological Survey, Site Auditor at Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, and Science Writer at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. Sara Ellis holds a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from Virginia Commonwealth University and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Science Writing at The Johns Hopkins University.
