Winthrop Thurlow

Winthrop Thurlow is currently the Executive Director at MedTech Association. Prior to this, they spent 10 years at State University of New York Upstate Medical University, where they were the Vice President for University Compliance and Ethics. In this role, they were responsible for managing and overseeing the development, implementation and review of all university policies; creating and delivering guidance, education and training related to ethics, integrity and conflicts of interest issues; supervising university-wide compliance with applicable legal and regulatory obligations; and serving as confidential advisor to the president on ethics and compliance matters. Winthrop also served as the university's chief compliance and ethics officer as well as the university Internal Controls Officer and Enterprise Risk Management Officer.

In January 2015, Thurlow led a university-wide effort to coordinate various education and hospital compliance functions and created a single university office responsible for insuring compliance by the institution and members of the Upstate Community. Winthrop was also engaged in the university's communications and marketing and oversaw its community/government relations and lobbying activities.

Thurlow has a long history of working in compliance and ethics roles. Winthrop has a Bachelor's degree in Theirtory from Dartmouth College and a Juris Doctor from Northeastern University School of Law.
