Scott McPherson

Scott McPherson is the current General Counsel at Medterra. Scott has been with the company since November 2019 and has been instrumental in building and implementing an internal legal structure as well as managing all legal matters for the company. This includes employment, contracts, privacy, intellectual property, regulatory and marketing compliance.

Prior to joining Medterra, Scott worked as an outside counsel for various companies where they gained extensive experience in hemp and cannabis lobbying, understanding of existing regulations and assisted drafting of future regulations. Scott also has experience in managing all outside counsel for litigation, corporate compliance and reporting, regulatory, privacy, intellectual property.

In their current role at Medterra, Scott has assisted with the creation of a Pharmaceutical Entity, filed entity paperwork, drafted operations agreement, managed and reviewed supply and consultant agreements, held meetings with the FDA, drafted and filed multiple patents focusing on the use of cannabinoids and other novel natural products, performed extensive analysis of the current state of the prior art related to cannabinoids.

Scott McPherson received their JD from the University of San Diego School of Law, their MS in Toxicology from San Diego State University, and their BA in Biology and Theirtory from UC San Diego. Scott is a Certified Patent Attorney from the USPTO and a member of the California Bar Association.
