Medyear
Panya (pronounced “pon-ya”) Chheng is the co-founder of Medyear. In 2012, after consulting for Kaiser Permanente, Panya founded Medyear based on the belief that changing the way we interact with healthcare could dramatically save money and lives. Before starting Medyear, Panya was a strategy leader at Deloitte serving organizations such as Hewlett Packard, Intel, Johnson & Johnson, and the United States Department of Homeland Security. Working with Homeland Security led Panya into a career of risk management and ultimately landed him the Secretary’s Award for helping to secure the nation’s maritime industry. Inspired by the potential for technological innovation in the public sector, Panya worked on Barack Obama’s 2008 Presidential campaign. As part of the Wisconsin data team, he helped pioneer the use of Big Data analytics to organize a political campaign. After the campaign, Panya worked on large-scale healthcare transformations in China. This work in China inspired his vision of what healthcare in the future should be, powered by Medyear. Panya holds a master's degree in public policy from UC Berkeley, and a bachelor of arts degree in politics from the Catholic University of America.
