Victor Sanchez Tarre

Victor Sanchez Tarre has extensive work experience in the field of data science and automation. Victor currently works at MeiraGTx as the Director of Data Science since 2023. Prior to this role, they served as the MSAT Data Science Lead from 2022 to 2023. Victor also worked as an MSAT Automation Scientist II from 2020 to 2022 and as an MSAT Automation Scientist I from 2019 to 2020.

Before joining MeiraGTx, Victor pursued their academic career at UCL. Victor completed their Ph.D. in 2020, focusing on the modelling and experimental characterization of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii under monochromatic LED illumination. During their time at UCL, they gained expertise in high-throughput assay development, metabolic modeling using MATLAB and Python, large data set manipulation and analysis, as well as supervising student projects.

In addition, Victor worked as a Masters Student at UCL, where they evaluated the suitability of the diatom Phaeodactylum tricornutum for bioremediation of nitrate. Before their academic ventures, they had a brief stint at KPMG UK as a Vacation Trainee, where they gained experience in basic Python and Selenium and automated regression testing for an in-house web app.

Victor Sanchez Tarre pursued their education in a chronological manner, starting from their primary education at The British School of Barcelona from 2003 to 2011. Following this, they attended UCL, where they completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biotechnology from 2011 to 2014. Continuing their academic journey at UCL, Victor obtained their Master of Science (MSc.) degree in Biochemical Engineering in 2015. Finally, from 2015 to 2020, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemical Engineering, also at UCL.
