Ken Kwek

Ken Kwek is a versatile and accomplished writer and filmmaker with extensive experience across various mediums. As a contributing writer for Mekong Review since February 2021, Kwek has explored significant themes including inter-generational dynamics and social movements. Kwek’s career as an independent filmmaker includes directing the acclaimed feature film "#LookAtMe" and Singapore's National Day film "Connections." As the founder of Eko Pictures, Kwek has established a reputation for producing thought-provoking comedies and a diverse range of film projects. Kwek's background in theater includes a distinguished portfolio of plays performed by reputable companies, with features in leading publications. Additionally, Kwek has authored award-winning children's books and served as an external assessor at the Australian Film Television and Radio School. Instruction in screenwriting has been provided at the National University of Singapore and LASALLE College of the Arts. Kwek's journalistic experience includes reporting for The Straits Times on critical political issues. Academic qualifications include degrees from New York University and the University of Cambridge.
