Helen Silver

Helen Silver is the Co-deputy Chair at Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

Helen has over 25 years of experience in leadership roles in both the public and private sectors. Helen has a proven track record in developing and implementing strategies to improve organisational performance, culture and conduct.

Silver began their career in the public sector, working in the Department of Premier and Cabinet in Victoria, Australia. Helen rose through the ranks to become Deputy Secretary, Policy and Cabinet Group. In this role, they were responsible for providing policy advice to the Premier of Victoria on a range of issues.

In 2006, Silver moved to the private sector, joining National Australia Bank as Regional General Manager, Government Business. In this role, they were responsible for attracting government business to NAB.

In 2013, Silver joined Allianz Australia as Chief General Manager, Workers Compensation. In this role, they were responsible for embedding Great People, Culture and Conduct as a strategic pillar throughout Allianz Australia.

In 2019, Silver was promoted to Chief General Mananger, Corporate Governance & Conduct. In this role, they had responsibility for embedding Great People, Culture and Conduct as a strategic pillar throughout Allianz Australia.

In 2021, Silver was promoted to Deputy General Manager.

Helen Silver received their Masters of Economics from Monash University and their Bachelor of Economics (Honours - First Class) from Monash University. Helen also received their Doctor of Laws Honorary from Monash University.
