Darko Mandich is the current CEO and co-founder of MeliBio, a company that produces sustainable, eco-friendly building materials. Prior to their work with MeliBio, Darko spent eight years in the honey industry, where they became an expert in sourcing and trading honey as a commodity and food ingredient. Darko also built a network of over 12,000 beekeepers and established a strong supply chain in South-East Europe to meet the demand of their honey customers, which included large food companies in Germany, Norway, Italy, and France.
Darko eventually started working on launching high quality brands and private labels of packaged honey. These brands and private labels ended up being sold in prestigious stores such as Galeries Lafayette in Paris, Meny in Oslo, Jelmoli in Zurich, and Cost Plus World Market across the US. Darko's experience in the honey industry has been invaluable to their work with MeliBio, as they have been able to use their knowledge of sourcing and manufacturing to produce sustainable building materials that are friendly to the environment.
Darko Mandich earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the FEFA Faculty - Harvard Business School (HBS) affiliated institution in Serbia.
