Jing Shi

Principal Scientist at Mellitus

Jing Shi has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research. Jing started their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where they conducted research on monoclonal antibodies. Jing then joined BioLegend as a Scientist 1 for a brief period.

After that, Jing Shi worked as a Senior Scientist at Exagen, Inc., where they developed clinical lab tests for the diagnosis and prognosis of autoimmune diseases. Jing was responsible for selecting markers, optimizing analytes, and ensuring the accuracy and precision of the developed assays.

Following their tenure at Exagen, they joined Goldfinch Bio as a Scientist 2. During their time there, Jing Shi focused on exploring potential biomarkers and studying their regulation in urinary extracellular vesicles. Jing also evaluated the effects of drug candidates on lipid metabolism, cell signaling, and apoptosis.

Currently, Jing Shi is employed as a Principal Scientist at Mellitus, LLC. Their responsibilities include developing clinical lab tests for the diagnosis of gestational diabetes and collaborating with Contract Research Organizations (CROs) to develop monoclonal antibodies. Additionally, they are in charge of managing the lab and ensuring the availability of necessary equipment, reagents, and samples.

Jing Shi holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Rheumatology from Leiden University, which was earned between 2009 and 2013. Prior to this, Jing Shi also pursued a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences, General at Leiden University from 2007 to 2009. Before attending Leiden University, Jing Shi completed a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology at Wuhan University from 2003 to 2007. Additionally, Jing Shi obtained a certificate in laboratory animal science from Universiteit Utrecht in 2009.
