David Clayton has a diverse work experience in the field of biotechnology and laboratory testing. David started their career in 2016 as a Biochemistry Student at Queen Mary University of London, where they gained knowledge and skills in molecular biology and microbiology techniques. David conducted a research project focused on gene regulation in cyanobacteria.
After completing their education, David worked as a Microbiologist at Stansted Laboratories Ltd from November 2019 to February 2021. In this role, they performed various microbiology tests and analysis.
In March 2021, David joined Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Stability Microbiologist. David worked in an FDA and ISO accredited testing laboratory and gained experience in testing culture media and various IVDs for stability and shelf-life.
David then transitioned to Tropic Biosciences in October 2021, where they worked as a Laboratory Technician on the GEIGS Team. Their responsibilities included providing technical support for the development and implementation of Genome Edited Induced Gene silencing (GEIGS) technology in tropical crops, with a focus on developing high-yield rice variants.
In May 2022, David became an Associate Scientist at OXGENE, where they worked until May 2023.
Most recently, David joined Epoch Biodesign as a Laboratory Technician in May 2023.
David Clayton attended St Gregory's Catholic Science College from 2014 to 2016, where they obtained their A Levels degree. David then went on to study at Queen Mary University of London from 2016 to 2019, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry.
