Cierra Bland

Cierra Bland joined the Mellon Foundation in 2023 as social media manager, overseeing the Foundation's social media efforts. Prior to joining Mellon, Ms. Bland was part of the award-winning communications team at the New York Public Library. In previous years, she worked in the publishing industry where she helped develop and execute successful marketing and publicity campaigns for American Library Association (ALA) Award-winning books. Her work has been featured in national and local media outlets, as well as trade publications.

Ms. Bland is passionate about the power of reading and storytelling to effect change. She earned a BA in global studies from The New School.
