Today, you have many representations of yourself online with each of those identities tied to specific apps. This limits how you can express yourself and the actions you can take. We’re building tools so you can represent yourself however you want, wherever you go.

Let’s break down how our vision manifests:

💡  Tools for decentralized identity management and an interoperable social graph to allow for more expressive representations and more efficient coordination. We’re creating a universal framework for users and apps to exchange data.

How we work is just as important to us as what we do. 

We select members who can contribute more than just work. We seek to understand the world around us. We’re not afraid to ask questions when we don’t understand something; questions lead to new perspectives which inform better solutions. Constructive disagreements are encouraged, because that’s how we challenge our thinking. 
Although we move quickly, we consider the second and third-order consequences of our decisions. We think deeply about the problems we’re solving now and how those solutions affect what we’re able to do in the future and the broader ecosystem in general.  
We read papers, primary source material, and talk to the people who came before us to better understand who and what the status quo serves instead of accepting it mindlessly. When it comes to work, we don’t just do what’s ‘in the spec’ - we improve the process of how things are done. 
The Big Problems motivate us. Curiosity drives us. The systems we design and build may have far reaching consequences for millions of people, so our eagerness to learn extends beyond work; it’s a core part of who we are as people. We recognize the world is a complex place, and that people are profoundly multifaceted. When we ask questions, rather than simplified answers we look for comprehensive understanding.
Feedback is important to us; it’s how we improve as individuals and as a team. We’re respectful when we deliver it to one another and don’t ever take it personally. Our team is highly talented, but we all have quiet egos and are happy to update our priors as we learn and grow.

Our goal is to make places people want to spend their time, whether that’s with the products we build or at the office where we work. We’re currently located in San Francisco but plan on having spaces around the country as we grow.

**About Mem**

Mem is building a cryptographic, privacy-focused protocol to support the next generation of social apps that are being built on web3. With Mem, users hold the keys to their data and can take it wherever they wish. Mem will free user identities that are currently tied to apps and power an explosion of new social dApps

**Your opportunity**
Join our early-stage distributed team in building key infrastructure for the next generation of the internet. Our mission is monumental and the rewards from success will be sweet. **The Role**
As a designer, you'll be shaping the products that Mem ships to the world. You'll ideate, design, and build apps for desktop and mobile, as well as craft the user flows and stories that affect how people interact with our app.

**What You'll Do**
- Craft every detail of new product features, from idea to UX to pixel-perfect execution.
- Bring those designs to life in code. While you'll be working with frontend engineers on our team, you'll also spend time being one.
- Conduct customer interviews to generate data which will help us plan and scope our product roadmap.
- Create design systems that are simple to understand but help us to move faster as we scale. This includes story books, component libraries, and frameworks for feedback.
- Help generate marketing material and craft our external image.
**Skills Needed for Success**
You can create pixel-perfect visual designs (UI)
You can untangle hard conceptual problems and have sharp intuition for how people use (or wish they could use) products (UX)
You can do production-level coding in HTML + CSS + React
You have a working knowledge of APIs, specifically how to implement GraphQL schemas
You can communicate with backend and blockchain developers about both design and implementation details
You're a Figma wizard
