Joe S.

Joe S. has a diverse work experience in software development and leadership roles. Joe currently works as a Senior Rails Developer at MemberSpace since May 2021. Prior to this, they were self-employed as a Software Craftsmanship Mentor since December 2015, where they mentored apprentices and provided guidance for their growth.

Joe has also worked as a Software Writer / Lead Developer at Kadenze Inc. from January 2019 to May 2021. At Iridescent, they served as a Software Engineer from April 2016 to January 2019, where they designed and developed a team competition and judging platform.

In 2015, Joe co-founded and served as the CTO of Avant Garde, a web development consultancy. Joe also worked as an independent contractor from 2006 to 2015, gaining extensive experience as a developer. Joe's previous roles include being a Computer Systems Analyst at Infoactive from June 2013 to February 2014, and a Lead Developer at Neoteric Design from October 2009 to June 2013.

Before entering the software industry, Joe worked as a Network Support Technician at Michigan State University Eli Broad College of Business from 2003 to 2005. Overall, Joe S. brings a wealth of expertise in software development, leadership, and mentoring.

Joe S. obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Telecommunications, Information Studies, and Media from Michigan State University. Joe attended the university from 2001 to 2005. In addition, they obtained a Level 1 Individual Relationship Coach certification from The Relationship School in December 2021.
