Amanda Lopez, M.Ed., currently serves as the Dean of Students and Classroom Teacher at Memphis School of Excellence since July 2022. Prior experience includes over a decade at Shelby County Schools, where Amanda held roles such as Teacher Mentor, Training Coach, Facilitator, and Classroom Teacher, demonstrating a strong commitment to improving student achievement through professional development and targeted instructional strategies. Amanda has a proven track record in curriculum design and implementation, having developed district-wide English Language Arts and Math curricula and assessments. Prior to a career in education, Amanda worked as a Retail Sales Manager at Cato’s, where effective team leadership and sales strategies resulted in record sales. Amanda holds a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and has additional endorsements in Reading Specialist, SPED, and Early Education from Christian Brothers University, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from The University of Memphis.
