We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Writer specializing in APIs to join our dynamic team in Warsaw or Lisbon. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of API documentation and user experiences, enabling them to create clear and comprehensive guides that serve both technical and non-technical audiences. This role demands a proactive approach to gather, analyse, and synthesize information from various sources while collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders. As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for translating complex technical concepts into easily understandable language. Your work will include drafting and editing documentation, including user manuals, API references, and onboarding materials. This position requires not only exceptional writing skills but also a strong technical background, enabling you to grasp and explain intricate technical details effectively. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, embraces feedback, and is enthusiastic about continuously improving processes. The job holder will own the end-to-end process of re-aligning and updating our customer facing documentation, requiring a degree of project management responsibilities. The contract will be fixed-term for 6 months (possibly extendable).
Responsibilities
Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
Create and maintain comprehensive API documentation, including guides, tutorials, and reference materials.
Work closely with developers to understand the nuances of APIs and distil this information into user-friendly documentation.
Collaborate with product managers and UX designers to ensure documentation aligns with product vision and user needs.
Review and edit documentation produced by other team members to ensure clarity, coherence, and consistency.
Continuously improve existing documentation by soliciting feedback from users and incorporating changes as necessary.
Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in technical writing and API documentation.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Technical Writer, particularly with API documentation.
Strong understanding of APIs and related technologies (REST, SOAP, etc.).
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Able to connect customer needs and their pain points with easy-to-understand technical solutions
Familiarity with documentation tools (such as Swagger, Postman, Containers, etc.).
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with the Fintech industry would be a plus.
