Melissa Michelson

Melissa R. Michelson is an academic professional with extensive experience in political science and education. Currently serving as an Academic Administrator and Professor of Political Science at Menlo College since July 2010, Michelson has also contributed to Stanford University as a Lecturer in Chican@/Latin@ Studies from September 2010 to June 2020. Additional roles include External Evaluator for the HSI Implementation Project at California Lutheran University and NSF ADVANCE at the University of Texas - Pan American. With previous academic appointments as a Visiting Fellow at Stanford University Center for the Comparative Study of Race and Ethnicity, and Associate Professor positions at California State University, East Bay, and California State University, Fresno, Michelson began an academic career as an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Educationally, Michelson holds a PhD in Political Science from Yale University and a BA in Political Science from Columbia University.
