Charity Gikandi

Charity Gikandi has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and sectors. Charity started their career as a Finance Assistant at Regional Society for Blood Transfusion Kenya in 2012 and worked there until 2015. Following that, they joined the Centre for Behaviour Change and Communication as the Head of Finance and Administration, where they managed projects in Public Health and Nutrition across Kenya until 2017. In their role, they provided leadership and technical support in grant and project management, financial evaluation, and reporting. Charity also implemented performance benchmarks and set up risk management and control mechanisms. Currently, Charity is working at MEDA (Mennonite Economic Development Associates) as a Finance and Grants Specialist since 2017. In this role, they manage economic development projects in Agriculture and Agribusiness, supporting small holder farmers and SMEs, with a focus on improving livelihoods. Charity conducts financial analysis, due diligence of lead firms, SMEs, and business development service providers, and also develops supporting structures, systems, and processes for investment and financial management. Overall, Charity Gikandi possesses a strong finance background with expertise in project management, grant management, financial evaluation, and reporting.

Charity Gikandi attended the University of Nairobi from 2007 to 2011, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics & Sociology. During the same period, they also studied at Strathmore University and completed the Chartered Public Accountant program from Sections 1 to 6, specializing in Accounting and Finance. In 2012, Charity obtained the Chartered Public Accountant (K) certification from the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
