Courtney Mendoza

Courtney Mendoza Higginbotham is a Senior Attorney at Mental Health Advocacy Services, where responsibilities include piloting LA County's Department of Mental Health Medical-Legal Community Partnership and continuing the maternal medical-legal partnership initiated during an Equal Justice Works fellowship. This partnership has empowered low-income pregnant and postpartum individuals facing mental health disabilities by providing direct legal services and advocating for policies that enhance health, housing, and family stability in Los Angeles County. Previous positions held include Staff Attorney, Law Clerk, and Legal Intern across various organizations, demonstrating a strong commitment to public interest law. Courtney earned a Juris Doctorate from USC Gould School of Law and holds a double Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Political Science from Chapman University.
