Christine Petit is the current VP of Public Policy & Advocacy at Mental Health America of Los Angeles. Christine has a long and accomplished history of working in leadership positions to help reduce health, economic, and racial inequities. Christine Petit received their Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of California, Riverside. Christine also holds an M.A. in Sociology from the University of California, Riverside and a B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Los Angeles. In addition, they are certified by the International Coaching Federation as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC), by Leadership that Works as a Certified Professional Coach, and by The Nonprofit Partnership (formerly Long Beach Nonprofit Partnership) as a Fund Development Certificate holder. Christine is also certified by The National Council for Behavioral Health as a Mental Health First Aid provider and by The Community College Foundation as a Permanence and Safety, Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting provider. Finally, they are certified by Echo (Center for Nonviolent Education and Parenting) as a Trauma-Informed Nonviolent Parenting provider.
