Gemma Hood

Gemma Hood has a diverse work experience spanning across various legal roles and industries. Gemma currently holds the position of Senior Legal Counsel at Mention Me since April 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Zappi as a Senior Legal Counsel from May 2021 to April 2022, where they also served as a Legal Counsel from July 2019 to April 2021, and a Legal Advisor from March 2018 to July 2019.

Before joining Zappi, Gemma worked as a Legal Advisor at Telstra from September 2017 to March 2018. Gemma also gained experience as a Paralegal in intellectual property and brand at ASOS.com from May 2016 to September 2017, and as a Paralegal in corporate and commercial matters at Bates Wells Braithwaite from June 2015 to May 2016.

Additionally, Gemma has worked as a Paralegal at Simmons & Simmons from March 2015 to May 2015, and at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer from January 2014 to March 2015. Gemma began their career in 2008 as a Sales Assistant at John Lewis, where they worked until August 2014.

Furthermore, Gemma gained valuable work experience as a Legal Assistant during their time at In House in July 2013, where they assisted various departments such as Real Estate, Commercial, and Employment. Gemma handled tasks such as reviewing official title documents, writing letters to clients, and attending meetings.

Gemma Hood began their education journey in 2009 at Brunel University London, where they pursued a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) with a focus on Law. Gemma successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 2012.

Following their bachelor's degree, Gemma Hood enrolled at the College of Law, Moorgate in 2012 to pursue the Legal Practice Course (LPC) in Law. Gemma completed the program in 2013, further enhancing their knowledge and skills in the field of Law.

In addition to their formal education, Gemma Hood obtained certifications in the field of data privacy. In January 2020, they obtained The Certified Information Privacy Professional - Europe (CIPP/E) certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). In March 2021, they became a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), also from the IAPP.
