Vanessa is a career educator passionate about education equity. She believes that all people, regardless of where they live, who they are, or how they identify, should have access and opportunities to a safe, empowering environments to learn. As a STEM education expert, and an equal rights advocate, she has spent her nearly 20 years in education working to ensure access to meaningful, real-world learning experiences on a variety of platforms for all learners. Vanessa taught in DC Public Schools for 14 years, and most recently came to Mentor Collective from Out Teach, as their National Director for Education. She holds a BA from Bates College and an MAT from Trinity College in Washington, DC.
