Dick Coates

Dick Coates is the current Chairman MX ZA at Meraxis Group. Prior to this, they served as Managing Director Cargill Kenya Pty. Ltd from September 2013 to May 2015, where they were responsible for developing and implementing an ambitious growth strategy in the East African Region with a focus on grain trading and logistics. Dick also led the negotiations to acquire Lesiolo Grain Handlers Ltd., the only commercial, independent grain silo in Kenya. In addition, Dick Coates has served as Managing Director at Cargill Flavor Systems South Africa from September 2006 to October 2009, and General Manager, Coal Trading at Cargill Coal from November 2009 to August 2013.

Dick Coates attended the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where they studied history and psychology. Dick then went on to earn their Bachelor of Arts degree in those disciplines.
