Gary W. Tamkin, MD, FACEP, is a highly experienced emergency medicine physician with a distinguished career spanning several leadership roles. Currently serving as a Vice President of Provider Development and Board Member on the National Clinical Governance Board at US Acute Care Solutions, Gary also holds the position of Chairman of the National Emergency Services Clinical Council at CommonSpirit Health. Gary W. Tamkin has provided expert consultation as an emergency medicine expert witness, contributed as a SWAT physician for the Merced County Sheriff, and serves as the Medical Director for the California Highway Patrol, overseeing medical training for over 7,000 officers. Additionally, Gary has held multiple roles in healthcare, including Medical Director and Chairman of the Emergency Medicine Department at Mercy Medical Center and past Vice President at VEP Healthcare, while also fostering academic contributions as an Associate Clinical Professor at UCSF Health. Educationally, Gary earned an MD from UCI School of Medicine and a BA in Public Health from Brown University.
