Christopher Arnot

Christopher Arnot is an experienced professional in the fields of technology scouting, licensing, and business development, particularly within the biotechnology sector. Currently serving as the Head of Technology Scouting and Licensing for Biology at Merck Group since November 2020, Christopher leads efforts to scout early-stage technologies and manage licensing agreements, including overseeing the Sigma-Aldrich CRISPR gene editing patent portfolio. Previous roles include Director of Licensing and Business Development for Merck KGaA's CRISPR-Cas portfolio, as well as senior positions at Cancer Research UK where Christopher managed operations and business development within the research tools unit. Christopher's academic foundation includes a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge, along with degrees in Molecular and Cell Biology and Biochemistry from the University of the Witwatersrand.
