Alec Christian

Alec Christian currently serves as an Associate Principal Scientist at Merck, a position held since July 2019, following a tenure as a Senior Scientist. Prior experience includes completing a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley, where Alec was a Graduate Student from August 2014 to May 2019. Alec's research background also encompasses roles as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Wake Forest University (January 2011 - May 2014), where an honors thesis on "Dynamic Kinetic Resolution via Electrocyclization" was completed, and summer internships at Pfizer, focusing on Ni-catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reactions and chiral allyl boron transfer reagents. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Chemistry from Wake Forest University and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley.
