Brent Whitehead

Brent Whitehead is a Senior Scientist at Merck & Co., Inc. since October 2007, specializing in synthesizing novel drug candidates through structure-activity relationship (SAR) studies, employing both traditional medicinal chemistry techniques and innovative technologies. Brent is a co-inventor on several patents and has successfully developed multiple drugs for clinical trials within the cardiovascular franchise. Previously, Brent worked as a Research Scientist 1 at AMRI from February 2006 to September 2007, focusing on Process Research and Development and pre-formulation tasks. Prior experience includes a position as Scientist 1 at ArQule from June 2005 to February 2006, where Brent produced large chemical libraries utilizing automated chemical synthesis techniques. Brent holds a double Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Bio-Molecular Science from Clarkson University, completed in 2005.
