Fiona H. Marshall

Fiona H. Marshall serves as the President of Biomedical Research at Novartis, leading a team of approximately 5,600 scientists dedicated to innovative medicine discovery. Previously, Fiona held senior roles at Merck, including Senior Vice President for Discovery, Preclinical and Translational Medicine, and VP of Neuroscience, and worked at MSD as VP Head of Discovery Research MRL UK. Fiona’s extensive experience also includes serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer at Sosei Heptares, where novel medicines targeting GPCRs were developed. Additional roles include independent consulting and academic teaching at the University of Cambridge, alongside significant contributions to drug discovery at Millennium Pharmaceuticals and GSK. Fiona holds a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Cambridge and a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Bath.
