Liying Zhang is a seasoned professional in cheminformatics, currently serving as the Director and Head of Cheminformatics at Merck since September 2022. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Principal Scientist at Pfizer from April 2013 to August 2022 and as a Cheminformatics Scientist at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas from January 2012 to April 2013. Liying Zhang earned a Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry, Cheminformatics, and Computational Toxicology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where studies were conducted from 2006 to 2011, following a B.S. in Biotechnology from Fudan University obtained in 2006. Additionally, summer internships at GSK and Pfizer provided early industry experience in 2011 and 2009, respectively.
