Marion Emmert

Marion Emmert is an accomplished chemist with extensive experience in technology-enabled chemistry and catalysis. Currently serving as a Principal Scientist at Merck since August 2018, Marion Emmert has a strong focus on high-throughput chemistry, automation, and parallel synthesis. Previous roles include Associate Principal Scientist in Discovery Process Chemistry, where efforts centered on optimizing drug candidate development. Marion Emmert held academic positions at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (2011-2018) as an Associate and Assistant Professor, leading research on iron and copper catalyzed non-directed C-H functionalization, mechanistic studies, and biomass conversion. A brief sabbatical at Pfizer (2018) focused on high-throughput experimentation in chemical technology. Marion Emmert's postdoctoral experience at the University of Michigan emphasized catalyst development for non-directed C-H functionalization.
