Matthew Winston

Matthew Winston is currently a Principal Scientist at Merck, where they focus on the synthesis and handling of extremely reactive metal and main group compounds. With a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Caltech, they have previously held positions as a Senior Scientist and Associate Principal Scientist at Merck, as well as a Research Investigator at Bristol-Myers Squibb. Matthew completed a NIH Postdoctoral Fellowship at UC Berkeley under Professor F. Dean Toste, where they investigated photochemical mechanisms and bond-forming processes involving gold complexes. Additionally, they were a Glenn T. Seaborg Research Fellow at Los Alamos National Laboratory, specializing in inorganic, isotope, and actinide chemistry.
