Robert O’Donovan

Director, Healthcare at Mercury

Robert is the Director of Healthcare at Mercury. He began working in Mercury in 1996 as a Package Manager. He has since held the roles of Project Manager and Project Director, having most recently been promoted to Operations Manager in 2017 and subsequently to Director of the Healthcare Business Unit. Robert is the Mercury lead for the National Children’s Hospital project in Dublin, Ireland.

Robert has excellently managed a number of high-profile projects in the UK and Ireland. Robert has previously also worked on the New Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh, New Queen Elizabeth Hospital Glasgow and the Bon Secours North Block Extension in Cork.

Robert recently put a strong team together to deliver the National Children’ Hospital in Dublin on which Mercury is tasked with delivering the E157m Electrical Package. Prior to working in the Healthcare sector, Robert Project Managed projects within the Life Sciences, Oil & Gas, and Pharmaceutical sectors in Ireland and the Middle East. With 30 years in the industry, Robert has held various supervision and management roles and has a great understanding of what it takes to deliver large complex projects.
