Emily Joy, MA, RPCV has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and organizations. Emily currently serves as the Director of Development & Engagement at Mercy Corps since 2016. In this position, they are responsible for corporate partnership development and fundraising to support Mercy Corps' global operations. Emily manages a corporate partnership support team and oversees daily operations for successful partnerships across the corporate portfolio. Emily also optimizes processes, systems, and team structure.

Prior to their current role, Emily was the Director of Corporate Partnerships at Mercy Corps, where they managed strategic relationships with corporations and corporate foundations. Emily tracked and reported progress on program execution by global teams, focusing on women and girls, community development, value-chain and market systems development, and climate-smart agriculture.

Emily also has experience with Gaza Sky Geeks as a Senior Manager of Business Development and a Talent Matching Team Manager. Emily has contributed to MicroMentor as a Business Solutions and M&E Manager, where they led the growth and scale of the organization's paid partnership model.

Furthermore, Emily has worked at Peace Corps as a Community Economic Development Specialist, managing operations for the national entrepreneurship program and fundraising for youth programs. Emily also has experience with Truelift as a Third Party Assessor, evaluating social performance in the microfinance industry.

Additionally, Emily has had internships in social innovation at JVA Consulting, LLC and as a Director of Special Projects at Freshwater Project International. Emily has also held sales positions at Western Distributing Company and Cork Works Wine Company.

Their career started as the Food and Beverage Director at The Ranch Club.

Emily Joy, MA, RPCV completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dual Degrees: Liberal Studies and Spanish from the University of Montana in 2008. Emily then pursued their Master's degree in International Development with a focus on Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management from the University of Denver, which they obtained in 2016. Additionally, Emily has obtained several certifications including the Emerging Leaders Program from Mercy Corps in 2019, Project Management for Development Professionals (PMD Pro) Level 1 from APMG International in 2018, Public Dialogue Facilitation from the Public Conversations Project in 2013, Sommelier, Level 1 from The Court of Master Sommeliers in 2009, and Professional Ski Instructor, Level 1 from PSIA - AASI Professional Ski Instructors of America - American Association of Snowboard Instructors in 2002.
