Nelson Owange

Nelson Owange is an experienced professional specializing in program leadership and management within humanitarian and development sectors. Currently serving as Director of Programs at Mercy Corps from October 2022 to December 2023, Nelson oversees a diverse range of initiatives across areas including humanitarian response, WASH, food security, and education. Previous roles include Interim Country Director and Food Security Programme Manager at Solidarites International, along with significant contributions to gender analysis in agricultural value chains through a consultancy with the International Centre for Insect Physiology and Ecology. Nelson has also held project management and leadership positions at Terra Nuova Eastern Africa and Earthwatch Institute. Educational credentials include a Master's Degree in Epidemiology and Economics and a Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Medicine, both from the University of Nairobi.
