Sarah Gibbons

Sarah Gibbons is an experienced leader in peace and governance programs, currently serving as the Senior Director of Peace and Governance Programs for Africa at Mercy Corps since August 2019. In this role, Sarah provides strategic and management support for high-value peace, governance, and stabilization programs across Africa, collaborating with US, UK, and European donors. Previously, Sarah led the GBP15 million CREATE initiative and managed a USD$20 million USAID program, demonstrating extensive expertise in multi-country project delivery and partnership building. With a background as a Regional Drylands Coordinator at IUCN and earlier roles at Mercy Corps and Oxfam, Sarah combines academic credentials including a Master's degree in Conflict and Development from SOAS University of London and a Bachelor's degree in Geography from the University of Birmingham.
