Shelly Marquez

Trustee at Mercy Housing

Shelly Marquez is currently a Trustee at Mercy Housing. Shelly has held this position since May of 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Wells Fargo for 28 years, from January 1994 to May of 2022. There, they held the position of Senior Vice President. In this role, they served as a thought leader for financial health within community relations and provided strategic direction to a team.

Some of their key responsibilities included creating and maintaining a culture of cohesion and “One Wells Fargo” through transparency, collaborative teamwork, and a dedication to creating meaningful impact in low- to moderate-income communities. Shelly also led the team in managing a philanthropic budget to deploy grants in local markets and advance Wells Fargo CSR priorities.

In addition, Marquez oversaw the Unified Community Relations Team and managed partnerships with Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) to promote housing affordability, small business growth, and financial health. Shelly also collaborated with senior management teams to develop best practices and leverage resources allowing community relations professionals to activate programs in their markets. Finally, they led initiatives promoting philanthropy, volunteerism, and community reinvestment.

Marquez’s work at Wells Fargo was exemplary, and they were able to use their experience and knowledge to make a positive impact on their community. Her dedication to their work and their commitment to making a difference in the lives of others is evident in their career choices and their current position as a Trustee at Mercy Housing.

Shelly Marquez has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from Colorado Christian University. Shelly also has a Certificate in Corporate Citizenship Management from Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship- Carroll School of Management. In addition, they have certification from Colorado Christian University in Human Resource Management.
