Jelani Goodwin is currently serving as a SLAM Coach at Graham Windham since November 2023, following a tenure as a Youth Life Skills Coach at MercyFirst from February 2020 to December 2023. Jelani has a diverse background in youth development, having held multiple roles at Queens Community House, including Advocate Counselor, Employment Specialist, and Youth Development Specialist from December 2016 to February 2020. Previous experience includes positions as a Teaching Associate at Citizen Schools, Program Coordinator at Fit 4 Life NYC, and Lead Teacher at Robofun, where lesson planning and behavior management were key responsibilities. Jelani also contributed to City Year as a Second-Year AmeriCorps Member and Math Coordinator and worked as a Pharmacy Technician at Duane Reade. Educationally, Jelani holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Arts and Technology: Game Design from Bloomfield College, completed in 2011, and attended Information Technology High School from 2003 to 2007.
