Hamish Whyle

Hamish Whyle is an experienced professional in the forestry and environmental management sectors, currently serving as the Technical Services and Environment Manager at Merensky Timber since January 2011. In this role, Hamish oversees the transfer of technical information, manages the planning department, and implements environmental management practices for sawmills and forests, including various certifications and compliance programs. Prior to this position, Hamish held multiple roles at Amathole Forestry Company (Pty) Ltd. from August 1996 to December 2010, culminating as the Technical Services, Planning, Environmental, and Research Manager and previously as Plantation Manager. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management from Stellenbosch University and a National Diploma in Forestry from Nelson Mandela University.
