Richard Francis

Richard Francis has a diverse and extensive work experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Richard is currently working as the SVP of CMC at Synairgen Research Limited since September 2021. Prior to this, they held the role of SVP CMC and Manufacturing at Mereo BioPharma starting from August 2019.

From April 2010 to August 2019, Richard worked as the Owner and Principal Consultant at Francis Biopharma. In this role, they collaborated with various companies and worked on over 30 different products, providing problem-solving and training in process development and product characterization. Richard played a key role in the development, regulatory approval, and commercialization of several biopharmaceutical products.

Before that, they worked at BTG where they held the positions of Vice President Scientific Lifecycle Management from November 2009 to March 2010 and Director of Process Sciences from January 2009 to November 2009.

Prior to their time at BTG, Richard worked as the Director of Process Science at Protherics from June 2003 to January 2009. Richard was responsible for the development of manufacturing processes and analytical methodologies and served as the CMC technical lead contact.

Richard'searlier experience includes working as the Director Purification Development at GSK from January 1998 to June 2003 and as the Head of Operations Technical Support at Centocor from February 1991 to January 1998. At Centocor, they had various responsibilities related to manufacturing, process development, validation, and regulatory agency interaction.

Richard started their career as a Scientist at Celltech from March 1983 to February 1991.
