Valerie Wyns

Valerie Wyns has worked in various roles since 2015. Valerie began as a Research Assistant at the University of British Columbia Centre For Teaching, Learning and Technology, where they analyzed a large R dataset of student outcomes as pertaining to 3 learning tasks. In the same year, they worked as a Program Coordinator at the University of British Columbia, where they updated the office systems from a legacy paper-based one to a new online system. In 2017, Valerie worked as a Teaching Assistant for COGS300: Understanding and Designing Cognitive Systems, and as a Project Manager where they were in charge of building the Typescript/Node middle-ware connecting the Dialog Flow, and Google Assistant front-end to the backend mongo database. From 2019 to 2022, Valerie worked as a Full Stack Engineer at HostelsClub.com, where they successfully updated, added to, and documented all of the various pieces that hold a project of this size together, and gained an in-depth knowledge of the AWS eco-system. In 2022, Valerie began working as a Security Research Analyst & Engineer at MergeBase, and as a Data Officer & Technical Advisor at TACTHUB.

Valerie Wyns completed a Bachelor of Computer Science from The University of British Columbia from 2016 to 2019, with a field of study in Computer Science. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from The University of British Columbia from 2011 to 2016, with a field of study in Cognitive Systems: Brain and Cognition.
